Hi, I’m Liam, Investment Ready Mortgage Adviser here at Opes Mortgages. I’ve worked in the financial services industry for more than 10 years, including roughly four years in the mortgage space. What I enjoy most about the job is helping people make sense of their options, particularly when things aren’t completely straightforward.
A big part of my work is helping property investors get the finance they need to move forward. I also spend a lot of time working with people who aren’t quite ready to invest yet, helping them understand where they’re at now and what they can do to get into a stronger position — whether that’s improving borrowing capacity, reducing debt, building equity or simply putting a clear plan in place.
I tend to be quite analytical and detail-focused, but I also care a lot about the relationship side of the job. I want clients to feel like someone is genuinely in their corner, understands what they’re trying to achieve and is prepared to strongly advocate for them when dealing with the banks.
Outside of work, my other half and I recently moved from Sydney to Christchurch. We wanted to be closer to nature and have more opportunities to get outdoors, so on our spare time you’ll often find us out and about exploring Christchurch and the wider South Island.
